Remember in 2018, when Elon Musk tweeted that You’re here was working on a mini auto who could “sneak into an adult?” Unfortunately, a few years have passed and we still have to see a mini You’re here EV goes into production. But what is a You’re here mini auto look like?
Inspired by You’re herethe current roster of, the team of The daredevil created a series of conceptual renderings visualizing the You’re here mini auto in all its glory.
Note: CleanTechnica has replaced âModel 2â with âModel Aâ throughout this article because Elon Musk recently said that the smaller, cheaper car they are working on will not be called the âModel 2â. (Which we never really expected, but often used as a placeholder for laughs). That said, it probably won’t be called “Model A” either.

Hi, sorry for being late. I’m the Tesla Model A, or what my creator calls the Tesla Mini Car, and I’m the smallest Tesla in the neighborhood, but don’t be fooled by my small size. If the Model X has Falcon doors, I have scissor doors. And because I’m a Tesla, I have more high-tech features than your average little EV. Oh, and did I forget to mention that I look good too?
Highlights of the Tesla mini-car
- Compact size but never short of fun
- Two magnificent doors, four comfortable seats
- One-piece glass canopy for an exceptional view
- The metal and aluminum structure offers exceptional safety
Model A is Tesla’s first coupe. Inspired by the big boy style of the Model Y, the Model A features a pair of scissor doors, four seats and an all-glass canopy. Like every Tesla, safety is an essential aspect of the overall design of the Model A. The metal and aluminum structure provides maximum strength in all areas. The rigid body structure, lower center of gravity and generous crumple zones provide unmatched crash protection.
Automatic sliding seats
Model A is unlike any other car. The doors slide and lift for easy entry and exit. The automatic sliding and semi-folding front seats allow effortless entry and exit from the rear seats. The minimalist, guilt-free interior features recyclable and sustainable materials derived from hemp fiber, discarded milk cartons and wine corks.
Designed for pleasant driving
You can still use your smartphone as a key and access all the driver’s controls in the central 13-inch touchscreen in portrait. The all-glass electrochromic roof stretches front to back, providing passengers with unobstructed views of the sky or maximum shade if desired.
Spacious at a fault
The Model A has the smallest footprint of any Tesla car, but interior space is never compromised. The extended wheelbase and almost non-existent overhangs promise ample room for four adults, while the forward-designed dashboard improves legroom up front. The understated interior features a sliding center console with plenty of covered storage and wireless charging for two smartphones.
Why we decided to create the Tesla mini car concept
Tesla CEO Elon Musk ceremoniously tweeted that the automaker is working on a new pint-sized electric vehicle that can “squeeze into an adult.” That was in 2018, a full year after the Tesla Model 3 was introduced. Unless Musk is talking about a ¾ scale Tesla from The Little Car Company, Tesla fans and converts have been clamoring for a long time. a truly affordable Tesla EV – the Tesla Model A or Tesla mini car, in particular.
Right now, the cheapest new Tesla is the Model 3 Standard Range Plus, which costs $ 44,990 before federal tax incentives apply. But the Tesla we really want to see is the iconic $ 25,000 supermini, the real Tesla for the masses. And since we can’t wait for Musk to make up his mind, we’ve conceptualized a Tesla mini-car with all the unique quirks you’d expect from the auto industry’s most disruptive force since Henry Ford invented the assembly line.
